Today I have ordained that the evening sky shall be deep blue. It is in fact much closer to orange, but it doesn't matter - for me, this evening, it is blue. A kite wings its way across the segment of sky I can see, heading somewhere so unhurriedly that for a moment it seems motionless, hanging there in the orange-blue sky with its head facing West and its forked tail trailing a darkening expanse of East.
A truck horn shatters the moment and the kite resumes its flight. Very soon it is gone from my field of vision.
